Citizens Bank Minnesota and its employees donate $3000.00 worth of gifts to area families and organizations in need.

Citizens Bank Minnesota and its employees were excited to help organizations and families in need this Holiday Season. Our Main Office in New Ulm partnered with Brown County Family Services through their “Adopt a Family” program to help an area family in need by purchasing gifts and other items they needed.  Our Watkins Branch was able to help purchase gifts to help a family in their area.  Our Lafayette Branch was able to purchase gift cards for teachers at the Lafayette Charter School as well as donate snacks to the workers at the Good Samaritan Center and The Lodge in Winthrop.  Our La Salle Branch was able to purchase gift cards for 5 elderly individuals in need. Our Lakeville Branch partnered with their upstairs tenant, David Charlez Design to raise money for 360 Communities. Money was donated by employees, raised through a variety of internal fundraising events throughout our locations, and a bank match was given making it possible to donate $3000.00 in gifts for these families and organizations.

We were happy to help these organizations as well as families who would have had an otherwise difficult time purchasing the needed items themselves. It was also a great way to remember what the Holidays are truly all about!

CITIZENS BANK MINNESOTA HONORED FOR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

MBAThe Minnesota Bankers Association (MBA) has recognized 35 Minnesota banks for their community involvement. Banks play a vital role in their communities and to honor and recognize their involvement, the MBA created the Community Champion recognition program.

Citizens is one of thirty-five Community Champions that worked with several organizations in their communities, providing funding, volunteers, materials, supplies, or food for their neighbors. Citizens’ employees volunteered on behalf of the bank for organizations including American Cancer Society, United Way Day of Caring, Adopt-a-Family, Junior Achievement, National Teach Children to Save Day, local school programs, churches and non-profits. Recipients of the recognition range in size from small community banks to large banks with multiple branches.

In total, these banks donated over $3.9 million to their communities and worked with over 500 organizations in the past year.  These organizations included the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Salvation Army, American Cancer Society, Ronald McDonald House, Special Olympics, Feed My Starving Children, local schools, churches, and non-profits.   Over 1,500 employees from these banks dedicated 49,381 hours at a variety of volunteer events or programs in 2018.

MBA President/CEO Joe Witt congratulated the recipients. “As this recognition highlights, Minnesota banks continue to demonstrate an extraordinary level of commitment to the communities they serve,” said Witt. “In addition to providing the capital that helps families and local businesses thrive, the banking industry’s record of supporting local programs is second to none. The MBA is pleased to recognize these 35 banks for their commitment to making a real difference in their local communities.”

The Minnesota Bankers Association is the state’s largest trade association devoted exclusively to the representation of commercial banks. The MBA was founded in 1889 and represents 95% of Minnesota’s chartered banks. The MBA is proud to support our member banks as they work to ensure vital communities throughout the state. Citizens Bank Minnesota employees donate $3,000.00 worth of gifts to 6 families in need.

Citizens Bank Minnesota employees were excited to help 6 families in need this Holiday Season. Our main office in New Ulm as well as our three branch locations in Lafayette, La Salle and Lakeville each adopted area families as well as delivered needed supplies to the Crisis Nursery. Money was donated by employees, raised through bake sales and free-will donation luncheons, and a bank match was given making it possible to donate $3,000.00 in gifts for these families.

We were happy to help these families who would have had an otherwise difficult time purchasing the needed items themselves. It was also a great way to remember what the Holidays are truly all about!
