Race 2 Raise 5K

In May, Citizens Bank Minnesota hosted their annual Race to Raise 5K event. Even though it turned out to be a rainy day, we had great competitors! Out of the 151 participants that registered for the event, 86 braved the rain and ran the race. We are proud to say that the 5K raised $3,328.85 for the American Cancer Society. Thank you to all of our runners, volunteers, and generous sponsors for making this another great event!

Citizens Bank Minnesota Gives to Local Organizations

Citizens Bank Minnesota employees recently donated $7,313.51 to area nonprofits in the second half of 2022. Each year the employees choose who will receive the funds for that particular year. The funds are raised through Citizens Jeans for Change where employees can pay $5.00 every Friday to wear jeans to work, Hungry Hump Days where employees bring in snacks for purchase one Wednesday a month, as well as various employee fundraisers throughout the year. Proceeds were split among our branch locations and given to the Jaycees and Sertoma of New Ulm, Brown County Relay for Life, Brown County Food Shelf, Watonwan County Food Shelf, Sibley County Food Shelf, Optimist Club – Weekend Lunch Box program, Eden Valley Food Shelf, Cottonwood County Food Shelf, Watonwan Backpack Project, MN Lions Diabetes, Virginia Piper Institute for their cancer bags, and 2B Continued, a non-profit that focuses on suicide prevention and mental health awareness in young adults.

Citizens Hosts Blood Drives For Community Impact Project

Citizens Bank Minnesota hosted its final employee blood drive for 2022 with the American Red Cross on Thursday, September 29, 2022, in their New Ulm Training Room. Citizens employees collected 27 units of blood. Collectively, from their January, May, and September blood drives, employees donated 91 units to the American Red Cross which equates to 11.375 gallons!

This effort was in conjunction with the Minnesota Bankers Association’s Community Impact Month. Across the state, 83 banks and over 351 branches joined forces in September to serve several cities across Minnesota. Launched by the Minnesota Bankers Association, the Community Impact Month creates an opportunity for banks to highlight the many volunteer opportunities available to help build stronger local communities.

Donors of all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, B negative, and A negative. According to the Red Cross, type O negative is the universal blood type that can be safely transfused to anyone, and is often used to treat trauma patients. Simply go to redcrossblood.org to find a community blood drive near you! Citizens and their employees were proud to be a part of this effort!
